Flutterby in Action!

flutterby_quilt_01.JPG

I was able to put my fear of cutting into my fabric aside just long enough to make a quilt. Yay me! This fear of cutting is not exclusive to my own fabric. I assure you it transcends my ego and carries over to all areas of treasure collecting. So I made this quilt because I desperately covet the Jonathan Adler rugs that I seem to see every where but are completely out of the budget I set aside for things that I plan to walk on. I decided I could make something sort of “inspired by” his designs. This way I get to feel kind of hip and cool with out having to spend all of that money I selfishly like to hold onto for things like food and shelter.

Oh and please don’t be fooled by the photo. My very good friend allows me to take these photos at her house because she has infinitely better taste than I do. I do, however, commend my maturity in being able to both recognise and accept this fact. I use her and her home shamelessly and plan to continue doing so until she decides otherwise.

  2. Hey you! I FINALLY had a chance to check out your site, and I am beyond impressed! You are truly amazing, that is for sure. Love the quilt, love the fabric. You know it isn’t fair for one person to have that much talent, right?

I had the best time working with you this week, and again, thank you SO much for all of your help. You are the best! (Also, I linked to you on my side bar, I hope that’s okay!) Have a good one!

  3. I just “discovered” Full Moon Forest and have many yards headed my way! This is the most excited I’ve been about a fabric line in a long time. Right after I placed my order, I got my Hancock’s of Paducah catalog in the mail. I was THRILLED to see that Flutterby made the cover – wow!!! They gave you a great write-up, too! I predict that you are going to be the next big fabric star, my dear :) .

  4. Your designs are wonderful .. spectacular!!! I know your dad. He is an artist too–he has done beautiful work on my house. Good luck to you. I would love you to do some wallpaper–the sky is the limit for you.

  5. I love this pattern and your fabric line. Great job!

  6. I love this quilt! Is it a pattern or did you make it on your own? I bought 4 yards of Full Moon Forest when it came out and I can’t wait to get even more of Flutterby.

  7. hi! i love your designs so much! i talked to your mom on the phone because i wanted to order some fabric from her store, and she informed me you were from t.o. which is where i’m from. we had a laugh about that. anyway, i was wondering if this quilt was a patter or if you had knew where i might find a tutorial for it. thanks!
