Cover Girl

I don’t know if y’all have seen this but it’s pretty fantastic. Of all the fabrics in all the world, Hancock’s of Paducah chose my little infestation of many legged and tiny winged friends to grace the cover of their massive catalog. I have it sitting on my coffee table and am greeted with my own glorious vanity every morning. I couldn’t think of anything better except maybe the cover of Selvedge under the headline “Most promising light weight cotton/quilting fabric designer of the 21st Century.” Hey, a girl can dream can’t she? Besides, too much too soon can give a girl a tummy ache. I should know, I just got back from the movies and I have a clump of Gummy Bears sitting like a brick in my mid region. But you don’t come here to read about my candy exploits, do you?

  1. I can’t even IMAGINE how excited you are!! And um, sorry, but I DO think you’re one of the most promising new designers. I’m not a big fan of some of the others that are getting alot of hullabaloo, nothing that knocks my socks off so to speak. BUT, I finally got my FMF that I ordered…the purple owls and pink little bees. It’s all washed and ironed and destined to become an apron I think, but not together. Rambling…anyway…CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! Now go drink a Dr. pepper to help those Gummy Bears out lol!

  2. Wow what an awesome compliment. The sky’s not even the limit. You keep rockin’ on.

  3. Love it!! Glad to have found your blog!

  4. I’m so glad you’ve got a blog! I love your fabric and have had so much fun playing with it (especially the bunnies!)

  5. Oh my gosh this is only the beginning. We carry your full line… Full Moon Forest
and cannot wait for Flutterby to be delivered early March. The sales of Full Moon Forest have been overwhelming! When I received the Hancocks of Paducah catalog I was soooooo excited for you. I have pre-orders for the fabric, quilt pattern and jelly rolls. Even though I ordered a ton I may have to reorder. You go girl, you have the support of those who love your talent, vision and creativity. Whats next????

  8. That is so exciting. Too bad about the gummy bears. Was the movie good enough to make up for it?
Gosh, I love that quilt more every time I see it.

  9. Way to Go! Please let me know when you are heading to Philadelphia. My guild would love to meet you and see your work! Just think 150 women and cake! Now that’s an offer that’s hard to refuse! Peace, Elizabeth

  10. While there are other grand achievements in life that are more recognizable to the rest of the world like running a marathon, winning an Academy Award, or climbing Everest; for fabric people – the cover of Hancock’s is pretty heady stuff. Congratulations! Love the blog! Love everything about it. Thank you for showing your original drawings. I am in awe, and a little bit shamed. Ok, a lot shamed. You are inspiring!

  11. You are rocking it! Great fabric. Great cover! Let’s do a little sumthin on the QuiltersBuzz!

Congrats on a BIG splash and working with and for MODA,

  12. Jen – you make my job selling Moda fabric in the Pacific N.W. fun! You know I LOVE your prints. Welcome to the team!

  13. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next Tula Pink collection. Girl, you rock–you are so very talented!
The great thing about your designs is that your warm, fun, and down-to earth personality comes across in such a refreshing way; the collections are well-thought-out and have a diverse appeal. I can already see your design thumbprint emerging (Folks, don’t turn even a side to this young lady’s work; she’s truly got the handle on IT!).
A big hug and congrats on being Cover Girl–you deserve it!

  14. Hi Jen, lovely fabric, congrats and much success, and I don’t mind if you talk about candy, if you show some quilter’s eye candy too, everything else is okay:D

  15. Hi!

I was just in your mother’s quilt shop and got to see this quilt in person! It is just gorgeous. I have made several things with your FMF fabrics and can’t wait to get Flutterby!

  16. Hey Kiddo
You already know this – as I have told you. You are a delight in many ways, way too creative, witty, fun, sweet – and so darn young. Oh my many reason to NOT like you, but alas everyone is nuts about you. I am a fan, wonderful talent – much in store for you.

  17. Hi Jen,
Congratualtions!!!! I love the blog and your fabric. Plus your personality is as wonderful and fun as your fabric. I am glad you are with Moda!

I have only been quilting for about 6 months and the very first time I saw your work was in my local quilting shop. I flipped over your whimsy, use of color and most of all the hidden pictures. I live in a very very very small town and I don’t think the owner of my local quilt shop bought the collection. God is good and being able to get your fabric on the net is just one more way of HIM showing His love.

    Rambling, sorry
    Please don’t ever stop.
    Thank you for being you.

  19. eeeeeeee! :D So rad!!!! LOVE YOU!
