Sad but True
The following is about giving much deserved recognition to the little guys that didn’t quite make the cut. There are so many decisions that go into a final collection. Sometimes you just have to let go. As an avid supporter of the underdog I find myself a little saddened by their exclusion. Of course if my collection could have a hundred fabrics in it there would still be a hundred more that my heart would desperately want to include. Alas this is not a possibility. Some of my favorite strike offs end up on the design room floor, dropped but not forgotten. Please join me in a moment of silence…

This is the collection not the loved but lost right? Because seriously, I love that yellow in the middle and the rest look wonderful.

You must honor them and save all the rejected ones for their very own quilt someday. Honestly, BEST looking strike-offs ever!

Love the pink, but then I have an affinity for pink! The oranges and yellow are killer vibrant!. Wow if this is the lost pile we are in for years and years of great fabrics. As I have always said you truly see the world in different colors than most of us. You are my sunshine!

Those warm colors are particularly amazing. Wish I could take a big broom and dustpan to your studio floor and help you clean up! I love you new line.

An amazing array of colors and patterns, all working so beautifully together for my eyes to feast on! To think, these didn’t make the cut!? Crazy. Moment of silence taken.

You’re kidding, right? Can’t these be saved for another collection?? They’re gorgeous! I’m so sad to see them go. But to actually have them, even a piece of them, in fabric has got to be blissful in its own right.

Teeeny tiny little owl heads.
Teeeny tiny little owl heads in a multitude of colours.
Teeeny tiny little owl heads in a multitude of colours cut short in the almost prime of their life.
Cut. snip! snip! snip.
Bereft cést moi.
(Also? Apparently Hallmark don’t cater for this type of condolence. WUWT?)

Oh my goodness! I love them all, but especially those beautiful sunny oranges and yellows! That would be the hardest part of all. I don’t think I could do it.

I’m *so* excited for the Flutterby line to hit shops!!
As for these oh-so-cool castoffs, perhaps they can be resurrected for a Flutterby II line in the future… ?

I absolutely love your Flutterby line. I just recently made a bag using this fabric and had a hard time shipping it to my customer. I will be making myself one to enjoy! The pics do not do the colors justice. It is one of the most vibrant fabrics I have had the pleasure to work with. I am looking forward to Nest.

Amazing that these are the cast-offs! I can’t wait to see the winners! These could be a collection themselves! I love all the blues and those with the blue accents… I’d buy all of these, right now! hehehe

I am 11 and I love your fabric. Two days ago we just recieved your Nest Collections (charms). My Dad and I have pieced the quilt and I am waiting for the quilt shop to recieve the yardage to finish my quilt. This quilt will replace the other Tula Pink quilt that i have. My Mom and I also have a Tula Pink Pocket book. Mine is of the Owls and Mom is of the Rabbits. I would love to have some of those Cast-off fabrics. TULA PINK ROCKS!!!!
