Estampados Padroes

I had a little surprise in the mail today. My stuff is in a book! Estampados Padroes is a fat little book full of pattern designers from all over the world. I have no idea what the title means but I can only assume that it’s something along the lines of  printed in these pages is some amazing stuff by really talented people that are kind and funny. Ten of my fabric designs are in there, can you believe it? I’m in print! Like on paper and everything. It’s even kind of glossy. The book is published by a print house in Barcelona called Maomao. They publish all kinds of books on design and fashion. I can’t seem to find it for sale yet here in the U.S. If anyone finds it post it in the comments so I can buy one for my mom and my dad and my aunt and maybe that guy that works at the gas station and anyone else I happen to pass on the street.

There is a bunch of other amazing stuff in here. I keep going back to the work by Carolyn Gavin, Guilherme Marconi and Steven Harrington. Definitely worth checking out if you haven’t already. There are a boatload of others but I have only had the book for an hour and it took at least 45 minutes to get over myself.

  1. 45 minutes? That’s all?

    I kid.

    That’s super cool.

  2. Congratulations! It’s a beautiful book!

  3. Your awesomeness is international!!

  4. Wow! How cool is that!! I sure would love to be able to find a book like that. I hope some one comes up with a lead for you.

  5. Ooh, love it! I just don’t know what I would DO if I ever came across the Sunset Stray Feathers on paper – it’s my favorite print, ever! Maybe I would decoupage my office supplies – the stapler could use some sprucing up, and maybe a bookshelf or two…love it!

  6. I googled: translate estampados padroes and it is Portuguese for “Printed Patterns.” Congratulations, yours are every bit as beautiful as those others, you should be extremely proud of yourself! I AM!

  7. I can FEEL your excitement – I’m excited for you! How wonderful!

  8. Congratulations! I’ve been reading your blog for a while, and it’s great to see lots of other people are going to know about you too :)

I’ve seen books like this before, and though I love the patterns in them I’m not quite sure what to do with the books themselves. They’re definitely an inspiration, but what do people generally do with books like this?

  9. I love that book… and congratulations!! I always knew you had glossiness in your future! If you can’t find any here, I’d be happy to accompany you to Barcelona to go shopping.

  10. I think you’re just supposed to look at them. That’s what I do. I have a lot of picture books. I’m basicly a toddler.

  13. I live in Australia and have a copy of this book in English. It’s called, quite simply, ‘Patterns’ and if you search by ISBN 9789460650000 you can find it on Amazon. It’s how I found this site, actually…

  14. I got this book for Christmas from my parents last year! I was impressed by all those designs and colors. And now I am even more impressed with 10 of your designs in it! My parents got it in Belgium. Would you like me to ask where they got it?
