God Save The Queen
I love this quilt. The pattern is called Victory Garden but I call mine God Save The Queen. It’s my little tribute to the Sex Pistols. Yes, I went through a minor pseudo punk phase in high school. It involved a whole lot of eyeliner and a pair of over sized boots, nothing major. It happens to the best of us. I used Erin Micheal’s fabric collection called Lush from a couple of years ago. I like the idea of making little Union Jack flags out of pastoral American scenic fabric. There is something sort of wrong about it that just makes me happy. Oh, and the quilting is pretty amazing. Once again Angela is to blame for making me look good. That girl has mad skills. She’s like a quilting ninja.

Angelas quilting amazes me everytime! Your Lucky to have her close by!
To use a friend’s catch phrase – “Awesomesauce”!
Perhaps I should try and make an Aussie flag like this
because it looks so fab.
That quilt is to die for – I am seriously thinking of making one of these in my bee – which funnily enough Angela is in (yay). How did you piece it? I’m guessing you need to paper piece for accuracy? Is it a real fiddle to do?
Looks fantastic! You did a great job!
Wow it is so nice, it looks like a challenge! i am drooling over the fabrics too can’t seem to get any now. Quilting is also beautiful, thanks for sharing!
I have been planning on making a union flag quilt for too long.

Wow, great job. I’m been gathering fabrics to start this quilt. My fabric choices are much more traditional. I love your choices!

You make me smile! Oh to be your age again….free and easy living in your litttle country house….I guess I could be “my age” living in a little country house! Still, you make my heart happy!

Does the barn really have your name on it?
I love the Union Jack flag! I desperately wish the American flag was as symmetrical. Thanks for sharing about the pattern–I wasn’t aware of it.
I love that pattern, too! It looks great in those fabrics!
This quilt is amazing! I’m not so good at following quilt patterns, but this one’s definitely under consideration to try.

Love your Quilt! I designed the Victory Garden Pattern and my British friends who inspired the design will adore your Sex Pistols tribute. What a smashing quilt!
does anyone know if this quilt is paper pieced? I LOVE it, but don’t want to take on a project that is more than I can handle…
Thanks for your help :]
I’m one of the British friends who inspired this quilt by Busybeequiltdesigns.com…love what you did with it…..and yes we did listen to the Sex Pistols…Clash too!!
I just purchased this pattern. I don’t have it yet but wanted to get ready for it. I have tons of layer cakes and jelly rolls. Will these work or will yardage be better?
Thanks,
Janet
