Parisville Goes to Market
Quilt Market is Weird. We all work super hard for three days of “show”. I kinda love it though. Parisville is my 7th fabric collection and this Market was my very first booth. I took it as an opportunity to re design my guest room. I am a multi-tasker at heart so it seemed like the right thing to do. It was like a great big tax write off shopping spree. Isn’t that what life is all about? I think it is. Every item I purchased or made was for the express purpose of that extra bedroom. My future guests will be so pleased.
The idea for the booth, besides just decorating my home, was to make a little Parisian salon. I made a lot of little hair pictures and painted everything this surreal mint clay color. There was stuff everywhere! I loved it and I think other people were into it too. At one point the line to get your picture taken with Ty Pennington wrapped around my booth. It was a good opportunity for me to exercise my entertaining skills. A few jokes and a sassy little tap dance did the trick. Luckily the line wound down before I got saucy enough to start singing.
In the excitement of all that is Quilt Market I may have forgotten to take pictures of my booth. Lame, yes but not a total loss. Luckily other people think a bit more on the practical side than I do. Miss Julie let me borrow her pics. She has a ton more over at her place. The girl is thorough to say the least.

i love it its amazing!
So dramatic! Your lucky guests who will enjoy the newly restyled room. I’ve loved seeing pictures of your booth across the web. And always with such glowing comments about you–which is only as it should be. Hope you can relax and breathe now for a bit.
Loved your booth….love that you seemed so happy!
I love all of it! I’m saving all my fabri budget-I can’t wait for Parisville!
And you have some lucky guests getting to stay in the room!
Are you looking for guests? I’ll volunteer! I’m so excited for this line-not sure which colorway I like the best, so I’ll probably have to get some of each!
You, my dear, are a genius. Keep up the fantastic work!
Loved meeting you at Market!! Your booth was AWESOME!! I have more photos on my blog http://www.jamiemueller.blogspot.com!
Your booth looks lovely!
Gorgeous Booth! I love how much detail went into it – you are so talented! Thanks for sharing!
It is just so stunning, I bet you are going to be *very* busy with guests now, and once they are there you will never get them to leave!
It seems that every blogger who was there fell in love with your booth. Someone even said they couldn’t believe you didn’t win “Best Booth”. Pictures are all over the blogging world. It’s beautiful!
I love your booth…your work….you are just awesome! I have been following your career since flutterby and see you as the next big “fabric star”. Going to Free Spirit is a great move as they will know how to market you. I love Moda but I don’t think they knew how to market you. I can’t wait for your laminated fabric to get around. Have you thought about getting into scrapbooking? Anyway….you go girl! You and my daughter look so much alike. Altho I think her hair is oxblood this month. She is a high school photography in Houston. She took her students to an art competition or I would have dragged her down there so she could meet you and see that not all quilters wear quilted batik jackets.
what a great booth … do wish I could have gone to the show … glad things are going well and that you seem so happy!
Your booth looks amazing. I have seen all Julie’s pics and all i can say is WOW!! That parisville quilt in the back is a showstopper!!! Congrats and I can’t wait to see your new line in person.
amazing it took them 7 years to give you your own booth- when will everyone else just bow down and realize that TULA IS THE BEST- I mean just look at what you did with that small space. You are nothing short of amazing in every way and the only question I have now is WHEN CAN I BUY PARISVILLE… I AM DYING… I CHECK EVERY DAY… WHEN WHEN WHEN???? My apron customers just can’t wait much longer, its agonizing.
Geee-or-geous! The quilts are stunning. How was the quilting done on those amazing silhouette quilts? Is it hand or machine?
I so love that line and that booth is just unbelievably gorgeous. I think it is the most outstanding booth and fabric collection of quilt market this year (as far as I have seen in blogland).
Could you let me know what fabric you used as background for the Kiss Kiss quilt? Is it cosmic blue? It is so perfect together with the blue colourway of Parisville. When will your fabrics hit stores? I can’t wait to buy every single one of it.
Thank you so much for creating this gorgeousness.
What a great idea to redecorate your guest bedroom in the process of coming out with new fabric! I love the new line and the eye patches over the statues is too funny!
I love your booth. It’s so beautiful! My sister-in-law ordered your laminates to re-do her hair salon in, and I can’t wait for it to come in so I can finally see it in person! Everything I’ve seen online of Parisville makes me want it now. Can’t wait for it to hit stores!
Theresa-
The blue is a shot cotton by Kaffe. The color is called Denim. Love it.
Love the fabric. The photos all over blogdom…awesome, now I am itching to get started on sewing with it!
Designed for a guest room? Well no wonder people said they wanted to move in!! I loved taking in all the details of your booth!! If you want any of the photos from my blog, they’re yours! : )
I’m excited, excited, excited about Parisville coming out this month! I’ve already been asking about it at my LQS, but I’m still waiting.
When it comes in, they’ll probably hear my excitement squeals two miles away!
Oh. My. Goodness. I work in an independent quilt shop and our buyer wasn’t able to go to market this year. When I see her on Friday I am going to wave pictures of your fabric in her face and say HAVE YOU ORDERED THIS?????
Because I must have it all. ALL!
Your booth was the best, bar none! This line of fabric is so stunning it seriously brings tears to my eyes. And seeing your process, well it’s just cake (let them eat it!). You’re a genius. I ordered the entire line at quilt market and can’t wait to get it into Sew Modern so I can play with it!
Have you ever considered turning your designs into china patterns? I would DIE to have a Tula Pink tea set or set of dishes! Huge fan of your work!
Sorry to blow up your comments haha I love love love the quilts hanging on the back wall! Will you be turning that into a quilt pattern that we can buy in the future?
